Vintage Science and Space Ads of the Space and Nuclear Age

Science was a different world back during the Cold War and Space Race. As this collection proves, the modern and futurist aesthetic of the 1950’s and 1960’s permeated into science ads as well, even if some of those ads were full of deadly weapons. Kinda creepy, totally amazing.

More from this collection at Brain Pickings and a bunch more at iso50.

Previously: Amazing vintage DuPont magazine covers and a ridiculously large collection of old-school pocket protectors.

Science vs. Delirium by Simon Bent

Depicting some of the members of History’s All-Star Science Brigade, but in wonderful tripping balls-vision. So who do you main? I’m partial to Freud but I admit some of his attacks are super-phallic.

Homemade Puzzle Box of the Day: Pro: The puzzle box YouTuber Xemnas2421 hand-built for his girlfriend Gretchen is really neat and thoughtful and undoubtedly makes a great Christmas present.

Con: Unlocking it opens a portal to Hell.
